About

A hard room that is easy to walk into

Most people who come to Pressure have never trained. They want to learn to defend themselves, get in shape, and be around people who take it seriously. That is who this academy is built for.

Students of all ages sitting along the mats listening during a class at the academy

How a class runs

Every class opens with a warm-up, moves into a technique block the coach walks through step by step, then finishes with live rounds. You choose your intensity in those rounds, and you can sit one out whenever you need to.

Beginners are paired with people who know how to train with a beginner. Nobody is spun up on their first week, and nobody has to prove anything to anyone in the room.

What we hold to

How we train

Pressure, not ego

Hard training and a room where nobody needs to prove anything. Higher belts look after lower belts, every round.

Technique first

Every class teaches something you can use, then gives you live rounds to test it. You leave knowing what you worked on.

Everyone gets coached

Beginners, competitors and hobbyists share the same mat, and each one gets attention from a coach during class.

Progression

The belt path

Jiu-jitsu ranks move slowly and honestly. Promotions come from time on the mat and skill your coaches can see, not from a testing fee.
